Is it Google??? Let’s do a search on “keyword research tool” on Google!
You can see here as a keyword research tool, Google gives us seven different extensions from “keyword research tool”; google, …s free, for youtube, for seo, amazon, chrome extension, and for fiverr.
You can expand this by doing what’s called the alphabet soup search with Google. This is where you type each letter of the alphabet, one letter at a time to see what results Google gives you. For example:
Now, we can see that it gives us possible matches with the letter “a”; amazon, ahrefs, app, adwords, api, australia, and apk. How about the letter “b”?
That not only gives us extensions on the back end with the letter “b”, but also prepends the search term with the letter “b”. Here we have; … bing, … best, … backlinko, … by semrush, free … backlinko, best … free, and best … for youtube.
Can you imagine going through the entire alphabet, one letter at a time and writing each of these down as you go??? Well, that’s the way I used to do it, but not anymore.
Let me introduce to you, Jaaxy!
What kind of results can you get from typing in “keyword research tool” using Jaaxy’s Alphabet Soup tool?
Here you are seeing the results from the letter “a”. However, due to space constraints on this web page you are only seeing a small fraction of the results for the letter “a” and Jaaxy actually gives you the results for the entire alphabet and numbers, as well. And it gives them all to you in less than 10 seconds!!!
Here, you can see the results for “y” and the number “1”. Up on top you can see a blue line with the letter “y” on it. You can actually click on that small circle and slide it left and right and see the results for the letters go by as you do that.
You can see that this tool alone is much better than typing one letter at a time into Google to find possible matches with all 26 letters of the alphabet and the numbers 0-9.
But, Jaaxy is much more than the one Alphabet Soup tool!
We will now take a look at the “Keywords” research tool on Jaaxy!
Up above, you can see we have typed in “keyword research tool” and Jaaxy is displaying various results from that search. The first result is of the keyword itself, and to be clear a keyword does not have to be a single word. My keyword here is the combination of three words, “keyword research tool”.
Let’s go over the first couple of key terms:
- Keyword – any word or words that we put into search engines to find what we are looking for
- Avg – the average number of searches that the keyword gets per month
- Traffic – visits to your website if you achieve first page rankings in the search engines (notice this is plural)
- We are talking about Google, Bing, and Yahoo search engines
Although having a lot of people searching for the term is great and the results of 1000 hits per month would be super, let’s not forget the most important thing! Your website needs to be on the first page of Google.
If we click on “Get QSR”, (Quality Search Results):
Above are the results for:
- QSR – quality search results, number of competing websites ranked in Google for this exact keyword
- KQI – keyword quality indicator; green is great, yellow is okay, red is poor
- SEO – a score based on traffic and competition, the higher the score the more likely you will rank for this keyword on the first page on a scale of 1-100 with higher being better
- Domains – availability of domains based on that keyword (.com .org .net)
Ouch! There are almost 200 competing websites for the keyword! And the SEO value of 78 isn’t good, either. So, it’s time to look at other keyword choice that we’ve been given to us by Jaaxy.
We even tried looking at the keywords that had little traffic, and even those are having over 100 websites to compete against. Boo!!!
So, I”m going to try something outside of the box here. I have a Pro license to a YouTube search engine, TubeBuddy. And, TubeBuddy gave me a keyword of “free keyword research tool for blog” for my YouTube video on this subject. I’ll link Free Keyword Research Tool for Blog video, so you can watch the video if you prefer that format.
This is what I’m talking about! These results are what we are looking for when it comes to quality search results. We have 70-200 searches per month giving us 13-40 possible hits if we are on the first page and there are from 26-135 competing websites.
From here I am going to click on “what is the best free keyword research tool for” to see what further results we can get from Jaaxy. Don’t be satisfied with going one or two levels deep! We want to find a killer keyword for our title!
You can see above it gives you more ideas and possibilities for keyword induced titles for your articles. I’m really liking the last one on this list (the list is actually much longer). 120 searches per month, 21 hits if on first page of search engines, 11 competing websites and an SEO score of 92!
The title of our article has been born!!!
So far we have talked about researching our keywords by using alphabet soup on Google and Jaaxy and the normal keywords search tool on Jaaxy. That’s just the tip of the iceberg!
How do you go about finding out if your title is ranking on the first page of Google, Bing, or Yahoo? Do you go to each of the search engines, after opening an incognito window, to see if you can find your pages on the first page?
Oh my goodness!!! How long will that take?
Guess what? Jaaxy to the rescue!!!

One more example to show the ease of site ranking research:
In this example above, you see I’ve ranked on Bing for the 6th position, 1st page and I’ve ranked in the 4th position, 1st page on Yahoo. Jaaxy Site Rank tool checks all three search engines for results all at once. Talk about a time saver!!!
