Who the hell am I?
I’m Les Waller and I’ve been on this journey to break away from my 9 to 5 since 2014.
At that time I had discovered that people could make a full time living by producing YouTube videos.
Well, hell, I can do that!
I soon discovered that it took a lot of work, time, and effort to produce videos weekly, let alone one per day.
After about 2 years of working that angle on YouTube I decided, after seeing the likes of Pewdiepie, Markiplier, and JackSepticEye, I could do gaming on YouTube instead.
Wallerdog Gaming was born!
I took all of my lessons learned from my vlogging channel and applied them to my gaming channel.
I grew to 100 subs in 3 months and after that I grew to 1000 subs in less than a year, two years later I had 2500 subs.
The problem was that I was in a relatively small niche and when I would stream other games my subscribers for the most part would not support. Of course, in any channel you build you will always have a faithful few and I really appreciate their support.
My growth in subs plateaued and I knew this wasn’t going to work long term, but I continued.
At the same time, I started looking at other ways of earning an income online. I was aware of affiliate marketing and had dabbled as an Amazon associate on my YouTube channels with little success.
In September 2018 I paid for a year’s worth of “help” by a couple of guys who had a 24 step process for building a niche website. It wasn’t cheap, but I knew that people could be successful with affiliate marketing.

was born! I had an expensive folding bike and figured it was a small enough niche I could make a website that dealt with that.
I went through their 24-step process and uploaded about 20 posts to the website then went back into my gaming channel.
All they provided was the process and minimal interaction plus some YouTube videos. It wasn’t enough for me to continue for another year at that cost, so I cancelled my membership.
In Jan – Feb of 2019 I still wasn’t satisfied with the lack of answers or solutions to my dilemma for finding a working online thing.
I bought into several cheap and several expensive programs, or as some would like to call it I had the shiny object syndrome. A lot of promises but very little delivery.
If you’ve been looking a while before you found me, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
In March 2019 I was introduced to Wealthy Affiliate by someone I know and trust.
I created a free account and started their training program that very same day.
Wow!
Within 2 hours of doing the training alone I had already built a website and learning and doing so much more than I had in the previous 2 years.
I was sold!

All my prior experiences and money that I had invested told me that this was well worth the cost, no questions asked.
Especially, when you consider I was already paying several hundred dollars a year just for a webhosting service with unlimited email. And that’s all it gave me!
Everything else you wanted to do you were on your own to get it done.
Let me tell you something.
I wish I had found this program back in 2014 instead of when I did. I’m sure that I’d already be doing this online business as a fulltime gig instead of working for someone else in their office.
I also wish that I had paused gaming when I did come across this in 2019 because I’d be way ahead of where I am now, too!
I’m 58 now, soon to be 59 and that means I really need to have this working for me so that I can work comfortably from my home or wherever I have internet access. It’s time to start enjoying my job and having more time for my family.
Also, something I’ve learned through life is the power of giving and the feeling of doing something for someone else, so they don’t have to go through the same trials and tribulations that you have.
I envy people that become contractors in their 20s because by the time they’re in their 40s they are pretty well off, especially if working overseas. I wish someone had pointed me in that direction sooner.

Here’s how it works!
Let’s say you love CATS! Yes, Cats!
What if you not only love cats but you are very good at getting cats to do what you want them to do.
So, your niche is Cats > Cat Training!
You would research and write a bunch of articles related to cat training. Once you have those done you could expand your articles to include other things that are cat related.
You write reviews on your website of products and/or services related to cat training.
Lo and behold someone who is reading your articles sees your link to the Litter Kwitter Toilet Training System, clicks on it and goes to Amazon and buys it.
Cha ching! You just earned a commission from Amazon all because you wrote those articles.
What exactly is affiliate marketing?
In the simplest of terms, it is promoting someone else’s products or services and you earn a commission when someone who follows your link purchases one of those products or services.
That’s it in a nutshell.
If you are thinking that Amazon is the only game in town when it comes to affiliate marketing as a vendor, you would be pleasantly surprised. Amazon is big, yes! But their commissions are getting smaller all the time.
There are so many vendors out there that have affiliate programs, it is unbelievable.
In affiliate marketing you don’t have to be the “used car salesman” either.
- You can pick and choose the best products to promote and you don’t have any inventory to worry about
- No collecting of money or dealing with credit cards
- No dealing with unhappy customers
- No meeting customers face to face
That is all done by the vendor, all you are doing is simply saying to a friend “hey I know you are interested in training your cat, have you heard about this new system they have out” Here’s a link to it, go check it out.
Why does affiliate marketing allow you to build a full-time business int eh comfort of your own home?
Because there are people all around the world searching for solutions or searching for products to help them solve a problem 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
That means that once you’ve built a solid foundation to your website, those articles will bring people to your website while you sleep even several months or years after you’ve written the articles.
Now that is what passive income is all about!
The more work you put in on the front end the better the rewards you will get down the road.
Let me be clear about this.
This is not a get rich quick scheme! You must put the work in so you can reap the rewards for your efforts.
Remember, I said I built my foldingbiking site in the fall of 2018, right?
Well, even though it is small it was earning $2 to $5 a month in the spring of 2020. You are thinking peanuts, right? I started adding more content to it this summer and even now continue to add articles to it. In September I earned $7 through Google Adsense and over $20 through Amazon sells on work that I had done previously.
Oh, I wish I would’ve stopped my gaming and continued to build up my site instead. Can you imagine the number of articles I could have posted in 2019 and the first half of 2020?
Don’t do like I did!
If you are going to take action, then commit to it! Don’t be wishy washy, don’t look for the next shiny thing or let the next shiny thing get your attention.

- Choose something that is your passion
If its not cats, how about dogs? No? How about some form of sports or games or a hobby that you enjoy?
Even if someone has a website that covers the niche that you want to write about your two sites will be different. You both have different personalities and that will come through your writing. Plus, your experiences in the niche will be different.
And, the best thing is you will have our whole community to draw experience from on top of all of the training that you will get on the inside.
2. Build a website
That’s probably easier than picking the niche, believe it or not. Some people him and haw around because they want to find the “perfect” niche. Well, remember that indecision leads nowhere and that a decision plus action will get you started down that path much more quickly than Mr. or Mrs. I cannot decide.’
3. Bring in Organic Traffic
Here’s where the rubber meets the road! You have a website with 30-50 articles that are SEO ranked by Google, Yahoo, and Bing.
That means you’ve applied what was taught and used the native search engine for SEO ranking and now the people who are searching for things related to your website are seeing it on the 1st page of the search engines and heading to your website. They’ll leave comments and ask questions, which also helps the authority of your website. They’ll come back as you put up more relevant articles that they want to read.
And that leads to
4, Make money from commissions
You’ve got links from a variety of vendors like Amazon, Walmart, Target, Apple just to name a few.
People who are reading your reviews because they are in the buying cycle have decided its time to buy product X.
They click on you link and make a purchase and wallah! You’ve made a commission.
Am I sure you can do this?

Step-By-Step EZ To Follow Lessons
The primary training course at Wealthy Affiliate is the Online Entrepreneur Certification course. Once you have signed in, you get to it by first clicking on “Training” on the left-hand side, then click on “Online Entrepreneur Certification.”
The platform is built in an easy to use format and it is easy to follow along. The lessons will consist of reading the text and watching videos, be sure to do both.
As you can see above, this course has five levels and each level consists of 10 easy to follow step by step lessons.

Click on the “Getting Started” box and you will see that Level 1 has 10 lessons. These come free with the Free Starter Membership account.
As you go through the lessons there will be tasks to complete. Once you complete the task, you check it as complete and move on to the next lesson. You will see your progress on the right side of your lessons so you can watch your progress as you continue to move forward building your online business.
You can see on top what percentage of that level you have completed.
The lessons and tasks are put in the order they are in for a reason, so follow them in order. If something unexpected comes up before you reach that point in your training, don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
